These are the states I have visited. I was born in Wichita, Kansas and grew up near Denver, Colorado.All the rest I visited while on vacation. I have a lot of relatives in Texas and Oklahoma. I'd like to visit some more of the U.S. bfore I die. I hope I can go soon. My husband and I haven't gone anywhere since '01. He's been on contract work and feels he cannot get away. He has no paid vacation time. The best we've done is go to Ft. Collins for a picnic. My sister-in-law and her husband live On the Oregon coast. That is a perfect excuse for going back there. The last time I was there I was eight years old. I had a great time there. I visited Oklahoma with my folks 3 years ago. I got to see my great uncle one last time. He passed away last winter. My great aunt is in a nursing home nearby.
I've been to California eight times. Four times we went to L.A., twice we visited Chico, once to San Francisco, we went to Yosemite National Park and the Sequoia and King's Canyon Nat'l Parks .
We visited Salt Lake City once. We went to visit the Golden Spike Nat'l Historic Site. We went to Phoenix ten years ago October. In Nevada we went to Las Vegas nearly half a dozen times. I'm "gambled out" now, but Vegas has quite a few sites to see. Fun shopping too!
As the map shows, I've been more in the west than I've been east. I really haven't any burning desire to go to places like NYC or Chicago. I might like to go back to visit Wichita one of these days. It all remains to be seen.
